The Jungle Giants Brooklyn Concert reviews
OOOOWWWWWWWWW!
I don't know where to start, but The Jungle Giants kicked off with their sensual, observational "In Chains" from the beautifully mellow SOTU album. It continued with some of the album's standout tracks, including the tough, through-hell-and-back "Wrong", which really got everyone going (Trust me, it got ME going!). It felt like a sexual experience, honestly, in between various breaks! Before I could realize, I was wildly dancing and shouting to the delights of their older tunes....... "Walking in my Shoes" was a clear standout. I even shed a few tears...... this song always hits me in the feels! Then there was the powerful, masculine "Personal Jesus", which turned the gig into what seemed like the rowdiest sing-along ever (Rose Bowl, perhaps!). "Precious" gave me goosebumps, its romantic and conflicting emotions causing the crowd to burst into song, almost drowning out Dave's vocals! "Little Soul", a bit underwhelming, mainly because Dave exited the stage....... but Martin's solo rendition of the track was soft and beautiful; a welcome break from the raw, intense energy that seemed to radiate from the crowd and from Mr. Gahan! With the departure of "Come Back", the audience soon started bouncing and leaping (literally) to "Policy of Truth", essentially turning it into a group sing-along!!!! Fast forward to the hauntingly sensual and ominous "In Your Room", another favorite, alongside "I Feel You". But it was the ultimate anthem, "Enjoy the Silence", that pushed me over the edge! Naturally, there WAS the more provocative "Master and Servant", which, well, involved activities that are better left unsaid here! ; ) All in all, it was an unforgettable experience that will stay with me...........FOREVER!
